Spherical Panorama: Humpback Rock

Once again, we have the great opportunity to share an amazingly beautiful scene through our work with spherical panoramas. Those of you who follow us on Twitter already heard these shots were coming. But for those who did not know, earlier this week JJ went out with our good friend, Tom Daly, to hike Humpback Rock on the Blue Ridge Parkway with our panorama gear in hand. The trip was a great success.

The scenes of Virginia and the Blue Ridge are unquestionably beautiful. Be it the lush greens of spring and summer, the changing colors of fall or the snowy landscapes of winter, we love having the chance to explore and experience the natural world that is right at our doorsteps. There really is nothing like going out and seeing the incredible landscapes of our world. But for those of you who can’t make the trip just yet, here’s a peak of what you have waiting for you.

Our hope with this work is not to replace experiences–because no matter how comprehensive a virtual view is, there really is nothing like sitting down and being present in an actual location. But we love being able to share what is out there waiting for all of us to see. Sometimes, as we’ve said, this might be a person’s only chance to experience a scene or building or an event and we want to offer those people a more full experience to see those places. But our real hope is that images like these will serve to inspire you to go see it yourself.

The weather is amazing right now! So take note fellow Virginians and get out there. Take a look and see what is waiting for you…
